Lebanon, despite all its wounds, will remain a model for unity in diversity

The President of the Republic, Joseph Aoun, and the first Lebanese Mrs. Nemat Aoun, arrived in Rome to participate in the official funeral of Pope Francis tomorrow, Saturday.

President Aoun said: “My presence here today as President of the Lebanese Republic is not only to offer condolences for the death of Pope Francis, but also to emphasize the spiritual and theses of Lebanon in this world.”

He continued: “We are here to say that Lebanon, despite all its wounds, will remain a model of unity in diversity, and a beacon of the human values ​​that His Holiness carried and defended, clinging to the values ​​that do not go away, for the sake of a more just and mercy.”

President Aoun and the Lebanese first gave the last look at the body of Pope Francis Al -Misji at St. Peter’s Cathedral.
