Responsible for the Self -Administration of Northern and Eastern Syria: We seek peace with Israel

During the symposium, Al -Qasimi raised a question about Israeli statements stating that the American withdrawal from northeastern Syria “will push it to carry out an appropriate movement,” asking whether in this context an Israeli -Israeli alliance was expected.

Here, Ahmed replied by saying: “We hope that Syria will not turn into a new battlefield. What we hope will achieve stability by building a new political system in Syria. This is what we seek permanently.”

Ahmed stressed that building alliances is an essential step within this endeavor, especially with the neighboring countries that live in a state of conflict, noting that these alliances may contribute to saving Syria from more slipping towards regional tensions.

When asked directly about the possibility of building peace relations with Israel, she replied by saying: “Certainly,” adding: “We seek peace, and every process that serves peace and stability in Syria is very important.”

Ahmed’s statements about the pursuit of peace with Israel came in the context of her talk about the approach of “self -administration” in political and diplomatic openness, which reflects a shift in the Kurdish political discourse, and at the same time raises questions about the future of alliances in the region, amid accelerated geopolitical changes.
