29 years old and the wound did not disappear .. What do we know about the Qana massacre?

Today, Friday, Lebanon is witnessing the 29th anniversary of the Qana massacre – southern Lebanon, which was committed by Israel on April 18, 1996 and affected the leadership center United Nations Fiji.

The massacre occurred during an Israeli military aggression called Tel Aviv at the time “The Operation Operations of Anger.”

The massacre signed the village of Qana, which is located in southern Lebanon and affiliated to the Tire district, bordered to the east by Deir Al -Aasis, to the north, I wish, and to the west, Hinnawi, while the south is bordered by friends.

The town, which is officially called “Qana Al -Jalil”, includes many neighborhoods, including: Al -Fawqa neighborhood, Al -Tahta neighborhood, Al -Sayyidah Salha neighborhood (there is a shrine for a great lady) Al -Baraka neighborhood, Al -Muhafir neighborhood, Al -Jami Al -Sharqi neighborhood, Haret Mar Yusef, Al -Hafour neighborhood, Al -Wardani neighborhood, Al -Khashna neighborhood, Al -Mawasiya neighborhood, Al -Hamara neighborhood, Al -Kharbar.

In Qana, there is the headquarters of the International International Emergency Forces (UNIFIL) and this village was subjected to another massacre at the dawn of July 30, 2006 that left at least 57 people, most of whom were children.

The massacre details

In the period between April 11 and April 27, 1996, Israel launched a military aggression against Lebanon, during which dozens were killed and wounded, during which a number of Lebanese cities and towns, including the capital Beirut, were bombed, and Israel called this operation “clusters of anger”.

On the 18th of the same month and as a result of the intensity and blood of the bombing, hundreds of Lebanese, most of them women and children, resorted to escape the hell of the bombing to a center affiliated with the United Nations in the village of Qana, thinking that it would protect them, and that Israel will refrain from pursuing them and killing them in a international center protected under international laws, covenants and norms, but Israel – and its habit – does not prevent it as the sanctity of the place or the sanctity of time – Religiously or legally – from committing its crimes and massacres in the way they like.

Shortly after two noon on April 18, Israel aimed at its defender towards the United Nations Battalion – where hundreds of civilians are shelter – killing 106 of them, and injured about 150 people with wounds, disabilities, physical and psychological injuries of varying severity.

During this two -week aggression, Israel used all the wild, sea and air army sectors, and the total victims of this aggression – the success of media reports – used about 175 martyrs and three hundred wounded, the displacement of tens of thousands, in addition to great material damage to the facilities.

And Israel had previously launched an aggression against Lebanon in the name of “liquidation of the account” (July 1993), and this included an air bombardment and a bombing of the areas of southern Lebanon, the Bekaa, the north and the suburbs of Beirut, and it lasted seven days, and it resulted in the martyrdom of more than 120 Lebanese and the displacement of tens of thousands in addition to great material losses, while 26 Israeli soldiers were killed.

The operation ended with American mediation, and the oral agreement was known by the “banana” agreement, which stipulated the prevention of the use of Katyusha missiles inside Israeli territory by Hezbollah.
