Lebanon between the fire of negotiations and the internal confrontation

The political situation in Lebanon is going on a volatile and unstable path, amid a state of anticipation, a client on various political forces. Everyone today is closely monitoring two main tracks that appear decisive to the future of the country in the next stage: the first is regional and is the results of the ongoing negotiations between the United States of America and Iran, and the second is internal and concerns the upcoming parliamentary elections, which is considered a new turning point in the balance of power.
On the regional track, the Lebanese political forces are watching the fate of the American -Iranian talks, which ranged from escalation and settlement. “Hizbs” on the one hand and its political opponents, especially the Christian forces, on the other hand, are betting each according to its agenda on the outputs of this path. “The party” sees in any Iranian-American agreement the rope of salvation, which will be fixed strongly on the Lebanese scene and gives it double political legitimacy that restores balance in its favor, especially after a period of international pressure and isolation. As for the opponents of the “party”, they are on the other side of the bet, waiting for any escalation or even a severe blow to Iran to reflect internally with the direct weakening of the party, which opens the door to them to achieve concrete political gains and gives them new papers to rearrange the balance of power in Lebanon. Perhaps the political and media discourse in the country, with its loyal and opposing apartments, is today fully tight to this equation. Each party prepares itself to the scenario that suits him, and runs its media and inclusive battles at home according to its external bets. As for the internal level, the upcoming parliamentary elections represent a very important station, “the Shiite duo” and its allies, they consider these elections an opportunity to confirm their political legitimacy again and silence any questioning of the legitimacy of their popular representation, especially after the indictment campaigns that were directed To them in recent years, whether against the backdrop of successive economic crises or regional conflicts. On the other hand, the Christian opposition forces of the “party” sees in these elections an opportunity to dominate the Christian scene and reinstall their presence strongly within the institutions, and it considers that this battle goes beyond the borders of Parliament to the further, as it wants to reformulate the Christian role in the national equation, especially in light of the rapid regional changes. From here, Lebanon seems today as if it is stuck in a fateful waiting circle, where all the papers are suspended With two detailed events: the fate of the American -Iranian negotiations, which will determine the regional wind destination, and the results of the parliamentary elections that will re -mix the internal papers. And between this and that, the stagnation and foggy continues, while the Lebanese people alone pay the price of the economic and political collapse, pending the fact that the features of the next stage will be clear.
