A severe sandstorm hit southwestern Iran and hundreds of people enter hospitals


Hundreds of people in Iran went to hospitals, after being affected by a sandstorm that struck Khuzestan Governorate, southwest of the country.

The official Iranian News Agency, “IRNA”, quoted the deputy head of the Ahvaz University for Medical Sciences, Maysam Moazi, as saying that 802 people have gone to hospitals in the past 24 hours due to heart and respiratory problems as a result of the sandstorm.

She added that 92 of them are still lying in hospitals, while others left after receiving treatment.

In a warning to the population, Muadhi called for the necessity of the commitment of children, pregnant women, the elderly and people with respiratory problems, their homes as possible. (Anatolia)
