The biggest obstacle .. Iran reveals the most prominent points of disagreement in nuclear talks!

An Iranian official familiar with the nuclear talks with the United States, which resumes, said on Saturday that Iran believes that its missile program is the biggest obstacle in discussions, not uranium enrichment.

The Iranian and American sides agreed during their talks in Rome a few days ago to start a framework to resolve the long -standing dispute over the Tehran nuclear program, with US President Donald Trump threatening to bomb Iran unless an agreement is reached.

The official added that the Iranian negotiators left Rome while they were convinced that the United States accepted the Tehran position that it would not end its entire uranium enrichment program or waive all uranium, which it already feared, but indicated that its missile program is still a major point of disagreement.

US Secretary of State Marco Rubio said this week that Iran will have to stop fully enriching uranium under the agreement and import any fertilized uranium it needs to operate Bushehr station, which is the only nuclear station operating.

The Iranian official described this comment as a “new media position”, and said that he would not contribute to progress in negotiations.

The official stated that “the only remaining point of the dispute in public discussions and mutual understandings is the issue of missiles.”

The official affirmed Iran’s firm position that it will not make any other concessions regarding its missile program that exceeds those agreed upon in a previous agreement concluded in 2015, saying that the Iranian defense capabilities are “not negotiable.”

The US State Department has refrained from commenting, while the White House has not yet responded to requests for comment.
