We reserve the right to nuclear response in this case

The Russian official TASS news agency reported today, Thursday, quoting Sergei Shoigu, Secretary of the Russian Security Council, that Russia reserves the right to use nuclear weapons if it is confronted with aggression from Western countries.

Shoigu pointed to the amendments that were made last year to the Russian nuclear doctrine that allow Moscow to use nuclear weapons if Russia or its neighbor and its ally Paralusia are attacked, including traditional weapons.

Last November, Russian President Vladimir Putin signed the Decree of the updated nuclear doctrine. (Sky News)
