The Gaza deal is stuck … and the dispute over the “end of the war”

The Israel Broadcasting Corporation revealed that the negotiations of the deal between Israel and the Hamas movement are still “stuck”, despite the continued efforts of the intermediaries to stop the fire in the Gaza Strip.

She added that the differences on the “end of the war” demand hindered the deal with Hamas. She also made it clear that Israel is demanding a partial deal, while Hamas is seeking a comprehensive deal.

She explained that Israel is calling for the dismantling of Hamas militarily and its removal from the ruling.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu had waved more escalation. He said in a televised speech late Saturday evening, that he had issued instructions to the army to increase the pressure on Hamas.

He also added that “despite the high cost of war, Israel has no choice but to continue fighting until victory is achieved and the detained prisoners are liberated.”

He also stressed that his country will return the hostages without submitting to the demands of Hamas, as he put it.
