Fabricated links on WhatsApp .. The Ministry warns the Lebanese

The Ministry of Social Affairs in Lebanon has announced that “please pay attention as the links of WhatsApp groups are circulating that they claim to be affiliated with beneficiaries of the Ministry’s safety program.”

She said in a statement: “We confirm that these ties are unofficial and may be a means of fraud or collecting your personal data,” noting that “the official authorities do not communicate with the beneficiaries through WhatsApp groups in general.”

The ministry added: “We ask you not to join or share these links, and report them when necessary.”

She emphasized that “all the services that it provides are completely free, and no financial amount of beneficiaries is received under any circumstance,” saying: “Please beware of any party or person who requests money in exchange for registering or facilitating obtaining the services of the ministry, including a safety program.”

In its statement, the ministry stressed that it is “not responsible for any financial transactions that take place outside the official channels,” adding: “Please do not pay any money to anyone, and report any attempt immediately.”

The statement concluded by saying: “The Ministry of Social Affairs confirms that the only hotline for reviews and complaints of the Aman program is 1714. Please do not communicate with any unconventional numbers or bodies.”
