From Sudan … a call from journalists to the world

Sudanese journalists, on the initiative of Reporters Without Borders, made an appeal to the London International Conference on the humanitarian crisis in Sudan, which was held on Tuesday, in which they denounced the limited media and political interest in the war in their country, and stressed the vital role of journalists, calling for tangible measures to protect them.

In their appeal, the journalists said: “Two years ago, our cameras, microphones, and our pens face threat, harassment and obstruction, which prevented us from listening to the voice of war victims and expressing their opinions, or talking about famine that affects millions, and many of them are trapped under the air strikes north of Darfur.”

The call added: “The country is drowned in the darkness of forgetfulness, and the 50 million people of Sudan needed the international population of Sudan.
