Israel is destroyed from the inside … remarkable French words!

It is clear that millions of weapons that were very evident by its allies did not help Israel in achieving its security, as it did nothing to prevent attacks from its southern and northern borders, or the hostage of the hostages, or the firing of missiles from abroad, but only worked to enrich weapons manufacturing companies that invest in wars.

This is what the historian of the Sorbonne University, Caroline Pique, sees in in -depth political analysis, in which she indicated that these weapons did not prevent the feelings of hatred and resentment against Israel, but rather their feeding, which led to “the emergence of a new kind of anti -Semitism that threatens Jews all over the world who in no way be responsible for the crimes committed by Israel.”

As for the French researcher specializing in the history of the Middle East, it is no longer possible to imagine the security of Israel as a constant strengthening of its weapons, as the support offered by the United States in particular limits Israel to the logic of war, while openness to Arab countries will be more beneficial to it, which contributes to achieving security and peace for the whole region.

Pique stresses that Israel’s security will not come from the massacres and deporting the Palestinians outside their areas. Rather, what guarantees security and peace is that regional integration of Israel within political and economic alliances, and this is what the Americans were already thinking by supporting the Ibrahimi agreement to bring peace in 2020.

The wrong enemies!

The journalist writer indicates in the French “La Croh” daily, that since the beginning of the Israeli -Palestinian conflict, the world is accustomed to thinking about Israel’s security through the military security perspective, which justifies the delivery of weapons and other defense measures by its allies. Today, about 77 years of conflict, the only way to look at Israel’s security today remains through weapons, and this means that anyone who denounces its use in Gaza, the West Bank, Lebanon and Syria is immediately described as an enemy of Israel.

Pique wonders, but “What if we have the wrong enemies?

By pretending to be a strong ally of Israel without forcing it to respect the principles of international law, the United States has also supported Tel Aviv’s feeling of impunity, which Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has more than ever, as it does not hesitate to insult the United Nations and the International Court of Justice publicly. Thus, Washington also contributed to the weakening of the rule of law, which has become judicial institutions and opponents of the Israeli government.

The extremist right and the settlers

It may be said that this military support was necessary as long as the Palestinian resistance calls for the destruction of Israel, but this resistance was able to develop. The Palestine Liberation Organization abandoned the armed struggle and set its demands to establish its state on the 1967 borders with independence in 1988, before recognizing the State of Israel within these same borders during the 1993 Oslo agreements. Hamas was forced to show pragmatism in the face of military and diplomatic facts, Its charter was modified in 2017 to limit its demands to establish a Palestinian state on the borders of 1967.

The French historian believes that, contrary to what the Israeli right claims, Israel is not subjected to an existential threat on the part of external powers, even Iran has become much weaker than waging any destroyed attack. Therefore, those who threaten Israel today are its complicit allies in a comprehensive military strategy, and its children from the extreme right and the settlers, who bury any political solution to the conflict, whatever the human cost.

Enriching weapons companies

Pique notes that these weapons were used mainly to fattening the military industrial combination, which earns billions of dollars with every outbreak of violence.

One wonders how long the Israeli society will accept sacrificing his children for the benefit of weapons companies. Here, the author adds that “there is no doubt that the overwhelming military superiority of Israel has prevented its society from facing this reality,” explaining that “weapons do not protect the state, but rather destroy them from within by weakening its political and moral foundations.”

The historian concludes its analysis with the urgent call to change this strategy. Defense for Israel, in its opinion, means supporting everyone who is demanding strict sanctions on those calling for the destruction, colonialism and occupation of the Palestinian territories. (24)
