Cases of suffocation in Najaf due to the dirt storm


Iraq witnessed about 1500 cases of suffocation of approximately half of them, in Al -Muthanna Governorate, due to a sandstorm that struck its middle and south, according to the health authorities on Monday.

Hospitals in Al -Muthanna Governorate (south) recorded “more than 700 suffocation cases,” according to the director of the Health Department, Mazen Al -Akili, who confirmed the “mobilization” of the medical devices.

In Najaf, “more than 250” suffocated to hospitals, according to the local health department, entered, while hundreds of similar cases were recorded in the Diwaniyah and Dhi Qar governorates.

The storm led to a temporary stopping of the navigation movement at Basra International Airport. (National Agency)
