The Israeli “Alma” institute for strategic and security studies published a new report in which it presented a technical analysis of two drones, which were launched towards the northern Israel region, in two separate incidents during the month of September 2024.
The report that translated it mentioned Lebanon 24That the two planes were found in open areas near the residential areas, and this matter has made a careful examination of some of their components, and added: “The plane is likely to be the first march that was intercepted of a witness model, and this type of drone indicates, in addition to many other results, that it was probably launched by the Iranian -backed groups in Iraq. I would likely fly 107 fired by Hezbollah from Lebanon. ”
The report says that the two aforementioned planes are different from each other, and that each of them has different capabilities and characteristics from the other, especially in terms of size, range, military head weight, engine type, but they share many similarities and common characteristics.
He continued: “The characteristics of the drones and their association with Iran raises two logical possibilities in relation to their production and supply. The first is that these planes are transported from Iran in the form of parts, and the final user collects them easily and quickly. As for the other possibility, Iran has transferred the knowledge and infrastructure needed to produce and collect them to various target countries.”
And he added: “Most of the two paths and components of the two paths are not improvised, and some of them are likely produced within an organized and documented production line, while other major parts of purchase are available in the civil market at a relatively low cost (made in China, Japan, etc.). The use of civil components in military systems is known and documented in many cases, whether in Israel or in Ukraine and Yemen, and in other arenas in which Iran interferes.
As for the first plane, the report said that it comes with the following characteristics:
– Its exterior shape is very similar to the 101st witness plane, but its dimensions are greater.
– This plane is released from a railway using a missile reinforcing that is separated after the launch
– A computer track and a collision computer set before launch
-The drone engine is a DLE-111 dual-beast gasoline engine, produced by Mile Hwachiang Technology, Chinese Ltd. under the DLE brand, which is a 111-cm dual-cylinder engine, produces 11.2 hp, and weighs 2.86 kg. In this case, as in other cases, the engine is provided with a wooden fan.
The drone structure consists of carbon fibers, and it consists of several sections connected to the rings and metal nails. It should also be noted that these rings contain pre -equipped cracks and holes that contain various wires and pipelines, and the various systems (seruau mechanisms, fuel system, warhead, etc.) have been linked to the structure using the barones, while the engine was connected to the main structure with another metal loop.
Senior drone wings, lightweight, hollow, and also made of carbon fiber, which are relatively long for the structure of the plane, supported by several bars.
As in the main plane structure, the wings also contain channels, cracks, wires and seru mechanisms. In addition, the wings carry production numbers, serial numbers, material descriptions, and others.
– The shape of the excursive drone is very similar to other warheads located in Iranian march planes in various squares in the Middle East, Ukraine and others.
– The head contains an explosive charge, and an acceptable lining (an explosive hacker) installed at the forefront to penetrate the solid targets. The type and weight of the explosive material, as well as the trigger mechanism, is unknown. While the warhead weighs a 101 -kg witness, it appears that the size and weight of the warhead in the fabricated drone.
What about a 107 drone fisherman?
The wreckage of this drone, which Hezbollah was likely fired, was found in northern Israel in early September 2024 after its interception.
Aircraft of this type hit the dining hall at the Golani Brigade base on October 13, 2024, and the Prime Minister’s residence in Caesarea after six days (October 19).
It seems that Hezbollah used these aircraft on a large scale in several attacks it carried out during the year 2024, especially in northern Israel, but there is no official confirmation for that, according to the “Alma” Institute.
As for the characteristics, they are as follows:
– A 107 hunter plane features a relatively simple design, as it comes with a cylindrical body, long wings proportional to its size, and a V -shaped tail.
– Like other drones, a 107th fisherman plane launches a railway using a missile reinforcement, with a range of about 100 km and its warhead is 5 kg.
– Although it is reasonable to assume that the origin of the drone is Iran, it is very likely that it will be assembled, and perhaps even its production, in Lebanon and other countries in the region.
– The structure of the drone is made of carbon fiber -like material, and is divided into two main parts: the main structure, the tail, which contains the wings of the tail and engine, and it appears that both the wings of the tail and engine are installed while connecting the tail to the main structure.
– The parts connected to the body of the plane are combined using nuts and nails, without using nails. In other words, it is likely that the drone from Iran (or from the country of manufacturing) is likely to be transported in the form of parts, and the end user collects it easily and quickly. Also, the wings of the plane running the upper part of the fuselage are also connected to the cracks designated with four screws.
-The engine installed in the drone is an OMA 5025-375 electric motor, produced by a Japanese company called OS Motors.
The engine weighs 405 grams, and is equipped with a plastic fan, works with a battery, costing $ 100-200. For comparison, the DLE-111 piston engines that Hezbollah used widely weighs 2.86 kg, and uses a wooden fan.
The use of the electric motor increases the difficulty of discovering and intercepting drones because it reduces its sound and thermal mark (besides the use of a carbon -like material).
– The drone warhead is fixed inside a cylinder at the forefront. In addition, it is possible that it has been fixed with a small lining (an explosive penetration in explosive) at the front of the war head.
