Every project supported by the organization enhances the links between our people and its land

Yesterday, the Sovereign Knights of Malta organized a global meeting at its historical headquarters, Villa Magistrale in Rome.

The goal of the meeting organized by the German Ambassador to the Holy See and the Malta Bernard Koch organization to support Lebanon in the reconstruction phase, where the organization’s support for the Lebanese people “, which represents a unique model of coexistence, was reaffirmed.”


Participated in the meeting, Claudio Gogirotti, representative of the Apostolic Chair, President of the Organization in Lebanon, Marwan Sahnawi, Lebanon’s Ambassador to the Holy See Gadi Khoury, Ambassador of the Knights of Malta in Lebanon, Maria Cortezi, Director of the Middle East and North Africa Department at the German Foreign Ministry, Toumnas Tounkeel and local project managers, Omaima Farah, Kass Zifnbergen, and Elias Ghadban, who clarified Health and humanitarian initiatives.

The meeting was opened with a word via video technology for the President of the Republic, General Joseph Aoun
It says: “The religious and cultural pluralism in Lebanon is the essence of our national identity, and a basic pillar of the stability of the region. Every project supported by the Knights of Malta enhances the ties between our people and its land, and enhances hope for a common future.”

President Aoun’s speech was greatly welcomed by the participants and the attendees who applauded him for a long time.

It was a word for the greatest adviser to the organization Ricardo Patreno de Montecobo: “Every medical center has been reopened, and every doctor has a deer, and every patient is treated, and every unit of fertilizer is installed is a seed of peace planted in difficult but fertile soil.”

He added: “Lebanon needs care, body and spirit. For this reason, the organization will continue to stand by its people, within the framework of our millennial message.”

He expressed his gratitude for the existence of this number of international media that came to follow up the event, and he stressed that “the Egyptian and Arab media has a great role in communicating such messages that bring people under the banner of peace.” He pointed out that “the organization will not leave Lebanon alone and that it will stand next to the Lebanese people until all its sons are blessed with security and peace over its entire lands.”

In turn, Ambassador Bernard Koch confirmed “the mutual trust that links Germany and Malta for years in the field of humanitarian aid.”

“This participation in diversity is important because it is unique: it is a universal model. As long as it is successful, it becomes a tangible sign that the impossible is possible, meaning that the coexistence that we wish in every way – which appears at this moment far -reaching – may be achieved in history.”

Sahnawi stressed in televised statements with colleague Mohamed Youssef that “the authentic Lebanese citizen always seeks for the interest of his country and not for the interests of external countries and that what the international community should give to the Lebanese is the hope on a bright tomorrow, by building schools and hospitals and focusing on education to build human.”

The delegation of the “Sovereignty Organization” visited Lebanon on March 11, headed by the greatest adviser to the organization, Ricardo Patreno de Montecobo, for three days.

Since the delegation returns to Rome, it has been moving in all directions to mobilize international support for Lebanon. The organization’s long -standing relations with Lebanon for more than 70 years, a leading organization in providing primary health care services and social support for all.

The Lebanese Association of the Organization has been committed for decades the service of the most vulnerable societies in the country, regardless of ethnic or religious affiliation, with the highest quality standards. Through a network consisting of 60 projects and program, including 11 health centers, 11 mobile medical units, 7 humanitarian agricultural centers, 3 mobile societal kitchens, two centers to receive persons with disabilities and many other programs, and provide basic medical, social and agricultural support to the needy.
