On the occasion of the glorious Easter and Eid al-Fitr…a statement by the Sidon and Suburbs Merchants Association

The “Sidon and Suburbs Merchants Association” congratulated all the Lebanese on the glorious and blessed holidays and announced the extension of the opening of the city’s markets at night during the last ten days of the blessed month of Ramadan, starting from Monday, the first of April, until the night of Eid al-Fitr.

A statement issued by the association on the occasion of the glorious Easter and Eid al-Fitr holidays stated:

“The Association of Traders of Sidon and its environs extends its congratulations to all Lebanese on the approaching holidays of the glorious Easter and the blessed Eid al-Fitr, asking God Almighty that the blessings of the holidays spread over our beloved country and the Arab and Islamic nation with goodness and stability and in better conditions, especially for our people in Gaza and in southern Lebanon in light of the continuation of the Israeli war and what the enemy is committing. Israelis from massacres, murders and displacement, asking God Almighty to remove this cloud from Lebanon and Palestine in these blessed days.

The glorious and blessed holidays appear this year in situations burdened with crises and concerns, and at a time when the country is still facing the repercussions of the political, economic, health, and security tremors that it has witnessed during the past few years, and their catastrophic repercussions have affected the Lebanese citizen in his daily life, in his livelihood, and in his right to secure the health and future of his children after robbing him of the benefits of his life. It also completed the remaining capabilities of the productive sectors, especially the commercial sector, which is struggling for continuity, even with live flesh, and the new and hybrid rental law for non-residential places came to threaten not only the work of this sector, but its sustainability and existence!

In the midst of the wishes we bring for our holidays, we ask God Almighty to enable our country to pass this difficult stage, elect a president of the republic, and form a government capable of putting it once again on the path to the desired rescue and desired advancement.

On this occasion, the Sidon and Suburbs Merchants Association announces the opening of commercial markets at night (after breakfast until one in the morning) during the last ten days of the blessed month of Ramadan, starting from Monday, April 1, 2024, until the night of Eid al-Fitr, and that it has worked to secure electricity for the commercial center throughout this period, hoping Fellow merchants should dedicate this occasion with thoughtful offers and prices, noting that the association has been keen, as every year since the first week of Ramadan, to raise and hang Ramadan decorations in the commercial markets to illuminate them at night, with grateful contributions from a number of fellow merchants, in the hope that this will contribute to injecting some The city’s economic activity at a time when it needs it most… Happy New Year.”
