For 5 years.. An Iranian company is preparing to supply gas to Iraq

The Iraqi Ministry of Electricity announced the signing of a contract with an Iranian company to supply gas to Iraq for a period of five years.

The ministry said in a statement yesterday, Wednesday, that “Iraqi Minister of Electricity Ziyad Fadel signed a gas supply contract with the National Iranian Gas Company for a period of five years, with pumping rates reaching 50 million cubic meters per day,” according to the Iraqi News Agency.

The Ministry added that “this quantity will vary according to the system’s need,” noting that “this aims to maintain the momentum of the production stations, and keep pace with peak loads and the increasing demand for electrical energy, until the rehabilitation of the national gas fields is completed and the electricity need is met.” (Russia Today)
