For the first time… Volvo produces the last diesel car

The Swedish company Volvo announced the production of its latest car with a diesel engine this week, ending the era of its diesel engine industry, as it seeks to manufacture only electric cars by 2030.

The XC90 SUV rolled off the line at the Torslanda factory in Sweden on Tuesday evening, becoming the last car produced by Volvo to have a diesel engine.

Volvo Cars is working to phase out this technology, although global demand for electric cars is currently calm, but it will continue to manufacture cars with gasoline engines.

In 2017, Volvo Cars became the first major automaker to commit to phasing out vehicles powered solely by fossil fuels, and has since introduced several hybrid and all-electric models. (Sky News Arabia)
