Sidon… Maintenance and landscaping works on Hossam Hariri Street

The Municipality of Sidon continues to supervise the campaign of afforestation and maintenance of medians in the city’s streets with the support of Medcities (an association of cities, headquartered in Barcelona, ​​dedicated to sustainable urban development in the Mediterranean region), within a joint agreement as a result of the green infrastructure strategy project NATUREMED, which was held in In 2022, between MedCities, the municipality of Barcelona, ​​and three municipalities in Arab countries, including the municipality of Sidon. In this context, the company undertaking the implementation of works on maintaining and increasing the afforestation of the middle of Houssam Eddine Hariri Street (from Elia Intersection to Al-Qanaya Roundabout) has begun.

The project also includes removing old stone partitions and replacing them with new ones 400 meters long and raising them above the road level to preserve trees and soil and prevent cars from climbing, in addition to placing stone borders on the sides of the median.
