In a phone call with Putin…the Malian leader condemns the Crocus attack


The head of the transitional period in Mali, Assimi Goeta, in a telephone conversation with Russian President Vladimir Putin, strongly condemned the terrorist attack that occurred in the “Crocus” hall on the outskirts of Moscow, expressing his deep condolences.

The Kremlin press service reported this in a statement, adding that the conversation that took place today, Wednesday, witnessed “a comprehensive exchange of views in the context of the turbulent situation in the Sahara and Sahel region, and (the two parties) agreed to intensify practical cooperation on the path of combating terrorism.”

The statement stated that the two leaders also discussed steps aimed at strengthening relations between Russia and Mali in various fields, including the implementation of joint projects in the energy, agriculture and mining sectors.

According to the statement, Goeta expressed “special gratitude” for the free Russian supplies of wheat, fertilizer and fuel to his country. (Russia Today)
