There are alternatives to a ground incursion into Rafah

The US State Department reported that Secretary of State Anthony Blinken confirmed in a meeting with Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Galant on Monday that there are alternatives to the ground military operation in the city of Rafah that would better ensure Israel’s security and protect Palestinian civilians.

The State Department did not indicate the details of these alternatives, but the US administration has repeatedly expressed its opposition to the Israeli army carrying out a major military operation in Rafah, for fear of the loss of a huge number of civilians.
