Any military operation in Rafah means a humanitarian catastrophe

United Nations Secretary-General António Guterres called on the countries that decided to stop funding the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) to reverse their position.

Guterres said in a press conference from the Jordanian capital, Amman, that “UNRWA is the way to provide life for civilians in Gaza,” noting that “investigations are still ongoing into accusing members of UNRWA of the October 7 attacks.”

He stressed that “any military operation in Rafah means a humanitarian catastrophe,” stressing that “a ceasefire agreement must be reached and all detainees in Gaza released.”
