For the first time since 2015.. Turkish airlines are flying again over Libyan airspace

After a 10-year hiatus, the head of the Libyan unity government, Abdul Hamid Al-Dabaiba, announced that Turkish Airlines will resume its flights to his country starting next week.

Al-Dabaiba wrote in a post on his account on the “X” platform: “Praise be to God… after a hiatus of about 10 years, Turkish Airlines will return to resume its flights to Libya starting next week,” noting that the resumption of Turkish Airlines’ flights to Libya is “an additional indicator of strengthening the situation.” Stability in all its forms despite the challenges.”

Al-Dabaiba added: “On this occasion, I appreciate the efforts of the transportation and civil aviation sector, and everyone who contributed to facilitating air transportation and achieving the technical requirements for the return of major companies to the country.”

In the same context, Turkish Airlines General Manager Bilal Ekşi said, through a post on the “X” platform, that “the Turkish company’s flights have begun to Libya, with three flights per week,” announcing the availability of ticket sales. (Arabic 21)
