A strange disease confuses Damascus… and the Ministry of Health explains

News has spread recently indicating the spread of a strange disease in various areas of Syria, especially in the capital, Damascus. It is likely that it is one of the variants of the new Corona virus, but the authorities have completely denied the matter.

The Ministry of Health issued a statement denying the news circulating about the strange disease, stressing that no deaths had been recorded, as was published on Facebook recently.

She confirmed that she follows on a daily basis the epidemiological report issued by the health directorates through the communicable and chronic diseases divisions, which monitors the disease cases reviewed in health facilities, through which the rate of spread and severity of diseases is revealed.

Based on the above, the Ministry reassured that through surveillance and follow-up there is no increase in any disease cases, explaining that influenza cases are even within normal limits.

Follow up on any changes in any disease
It is noteworthy that the Ministry of Health in Syria had also emphasized taking and implementing all preventive and precautionary measures in the event of any change in the epidemiological curve of any disease, and increasing preparations to enhance the response to any health developments related to communicable diseases or others.

It also stressed its keenness to follow all developments and developments related to epidemiological surveillance and investigation and response to disease control and its developments globally.

She stressed that the ambulance and emergency departments continue to work in hospitals around the clock to receive patients, as well as the health centers on duty in various governorates and the ambulance system nationwide. (Al-Arabiya)
