Al-Asmar explained that “the 18 million pounds is part of the minimum that is supposed to be around 50 million Lebanese pounds,” pointing out that “a family cannot live on 18 million pounds and 9 million pounds as transportation allowance, that is, up to 30 million pounds.” One million liras in general, noting that the minimum in 2019 was $450.”

He said, “This step is a step on the path to continuous dialogue so that we can restore the true value of wages in light of the bad economic reality in which we live,” pointing out that “this matter assumes the existence of a kind of security calm that is not available in the country, and it also assumes the existence of political calm that is reflected in The economy, which is devoted to recreating power that is not currently available, and as a result, the situation has “gone to where you are,” if not to say that it is heading for the worse.”

He revealed that “the General Labor Union agreed with the economic bodies to return to dialogue to produce a new minimum, as soon as the security situation in the south stabilizes.”

He concluded by saying that “the Labor Union worked as much as possible and within the principle of give and take,” reiterating that “what happened is a step on the path to improving wages.”
