A dispute between the unions of the liberal professions and the Greater Lebanon State Assembly


A union source said, “The meeting that was held at the Bar Association and included a number of union leaders and a delegation from the Greater Lebanon State Rally did not reach any result regarding the joint movement of the group with the liberal professions in order to push for elections for the President of the Republic.”

The source pointed out that there was extensive discussion during the meeting over a period of two hours, but without result, and there was no agreement on a specific date for action for the following reasons:
A difference of opinion among those present regarding the feasibility and effectiveness of the move as long as the move of the “quintet” of major powers did not cause any breach in the crisis.
The absence of a number of captains of the liberal professions, as there is a charter between the unions that the decision must always be unanimous.
A number of captains refused to impose a specific program on them by the “Greater Lebanon State Assembly.”
The meeting ended without any significant result, and a new consultative meeting will be scheduled.
