Hamas confirmed that it would not and did not accept the presence of UN personnel monitoring the truce.

In the event of reaching an agreement on a ceasefire, he pointed out that what is required are countries that will guarantee it and guarantee Israel’s commitment to it, not elements to monitor it.

He reiterated that the Palestinians reject the presence of any non-Palestinian parties on their lands.

These statements came today, Tuesday, after it was reported that the Ministry of Interior in Gaza arrested members of a security force affiliated with the Palestinian Intelligence Service in the West Bank, according to what media affiliated with Hamas reported last Sunday.

An official Palestinian source denied these media reports, stressing that they were “unfounded.”

It also came after news of the resumption of ceasefire talks in Gaza in Cairo yesterday, Monday.
