This is what the Shepherd’s Easter message revealed

The Easter message of the Maronite Patriarch, Cardinal Bechara Boutros Al-Rai, revealed beyond doubt that in Lebanon there are two groups of Lebanese who are on two opposite and contradictory sides, in form and content, and that each of them has different thinking in substance and performance, and that what separates them is much more than what brings them together. Even if they live under one sky, under one law, even in theory, and that their convergence on commonalities has become a seventh impossibility, as each of them has his own view of which Lebanon he wants, and how to live in it. This brings us back almost to the “Hong Kong” and “Hanoi” theory, which was prevalent in the time before the assassination of Prime Minister Rafik Hariri. This is what explains the failure to elect a new President of the Republic in light of the extension of the vacancy period for another month in addition to the previous months, which accumulate month after month without any sign of hope in putting an end to this deadly vacuum in the first presidency whose responsibility is assigned, by custom, to A Maronite.

It is true that the presidential crisis occurred before the Gaza War and the Southern War, and it is a result that some see as a natural result of the various Lebanese’s disagreement on how to save their country from the economic, social, and living crises it is mired in. But what is also true is that a group of Lebanese expressed it, both in presence and in absence. The Easter message sees that the other group, led by Hezbollah, is taking Lebanon hostage by opening the southern front with an individual decision, as if it wanted to establish a reality imposed on the one hand and rejected on the other hand, in order to equate the confiscation of the decision of war and peace from the hands of the state. With this equation, the “opposing team,” according to the theory of the “opposing team,” has eliminated the narrow space in which other Lebanese, who do not belong to any of these two contradictory groups, could have moved, and who were aiming in their movement, even if it was limited, to To eliminate the lines of contact separating these two groups entrenched behind positions that are more like sandbags, which separated Beirut into “Beirut.”

Despite this divergence in vision and approach between two parallel lines, those who still believe in the possibility of convergence continue their movement, perhaps, and perhaps the adversaries, feuding and differing people will reach a common word, after they discover that each of them clinging to his position and insisting that the truth on his side will not build a unified homeland, but rather homelands. Fractured and divided.
In contrast to the group whose concerns “Bkerke” expresses and mobilizes the group that places itself in the category of moderation, the “reluctant” group, expressed by “Haret Hreik,” believes that if the “Islamic Resistance” did not open the southern front “in support of our steadfast Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip In support of his valiant and honorable resistance, the Israeli would be “taking a stroll” today in the streets of Hamra and Jounieh, just as was the case the day “Hezbollah” confronted “ISIS” and “Al-Nusra” in the outskirts to prevent them from reaching the Keserwani coast, for example. This difference in view of Lebanon and how to defend it, whether with the “neutrality” that Al-Rahi calls for, or the “resistance” that Hezbollah calls for as the only way to save Lebanon, is translated daily into escalating and gradual positions, reaching a level that is difficult to come down from. away from the tall trees, although a possible solution is available, which is resorting to the Taif Constitution, which is still in effect, and resorting to it alone in urgent entitlements, including of course the presidential elections, as well as the legitimate institutions, which are still existing and functioning, and among them is the army institution, Which has proven through previous experiences to be the only guarantee for a unity whose features have begun to fade gradually and progressively.
