The data of the cyber security system in Israel confirmed that reports of cyber incidents increased by 43% compared to the year 2022, indicating that during the period extending between last October 7 and December 31, 2023, nearly 800 major cyber incidents were dealt with, and they were contained. Walla said that the period of war between Israel, Hamas, and Hezbollah witnessed a jump in cyber attacks, which shifted from focusing on influencing awareness and stealing information to attacks aimed at causing disruptions and damage.

Also, the National Cybersecurity System claimed that as the war progressed, more attack groups working for Iran and Hezbollah were identified, revealing that there were numerous cyber activities aimed at targeting hospital systems and those dedicated to controlling the energy and water field.

The report also says that through analysis and based on the sectors in which the most attacks or hacking attempts were recorded, it appears that companies that provide digital services to enterprises were a preferred target for attacks last year, due to their ability to reach many organizations at the same time.
