Will Franjieh withdraw from the presidential race?

The circles of the head of the “Marada Movement” considered that the problem with the participants in the Bkerke meetings was that they did not agree on anything except to oppose the nomination of former MP Suleiman Franjieh.

She told Al-Jadeed: Franjieh will continue with his candidacy until the end, and there is no such thing in his dictionary as withdrawal. According to circles, Franjieh says, “I am not at all keen to back down from my positions on the issue of Lebanon’s Arabism and resistance to Israel, whether I am a presidential candidate or not.”

She concluded: “We do not rule out a serious presidential movement, but not before the end of this year.”
