US crude oil production declined during the month of January


US crude oil production fell in January to 12.533 million barrels per day, a six percent decline from December, after cold weather disrupted some production.

Data from the US Energy Information Administration showed that crude oil production in Texas also decreased in January to 5.361 million barrels per day, a decrease of about five percent from the previous month, and production in North Dakota decreased by about 13 percent to 1.122 million barrels per day.

Crude oil and gasoline inventories in the United States rose, while distillates decreased in the week ending March 22.
