Standard & Poor’s adjusts Morocco’s outlook to positive

Standard & Poor’s revised Morocco’s outlook to positive, against the backdrop of an improved path of social and economic reform in the country, in addition to budget reform.

In its statement, the agency confirmed Morocco’s rating at “BB+/B.”

Standard & Poor’s said it believes that continuing to implement social, economic and budget reforms will contribute to shaping the recovery of Morocco’s economy.

She added in her statement: “We also confirm our sovereign credit rating for local and foreign currencies in the long and short terms in Morocco at “BB+/B.”

Standard & Poor’s believes that reforms in Morocco will take some time to fully bear fruit, but it is likely that water scarcity will remain a factor that undermines growth in the coming years.

The agency indicated that the Moroccan economy will benefit from the development of major projects in light of the 2025 African Cup of Nations and the 2030 World Cup.
